The Wellness Edit: Vesper Ireland

Vesper Ireland— Event Producer, Brand Consultant, and founder of VESCORP — brings care and intention to everything she creates. We spoke with her about what keeps her balanced day-to-day, the small things that help her feel grounded, and how she learns to listen to her body.

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?

- The first thing I do is take my dog, Mazzy, outside. I always go without sunglasses to support my circadian rhythm and absorb some Vitamin D to start the day! Before I got a dog, I thought this would be a drag, but it turned out to be such a healthy practice!

Next I usually make a matcha latte in the blender. One tsp of matcha (I like Golde matcha), almond or soy milk, and two pitted dates.

One small ritual you never skip?

- Washing my face! Boring but true. I never, ever go to sleep without thoroughly removing the day’s worth of makeup, grime, etc.

I switch up my skincare, but always follow with a moisturizer, and right now I’m obsessed with a tallow-based balm from a small Portland-based company called Tal-O.

Your workout time: AM or PM?

-  My mind is freshest in the morning, so I usually reserve that time for client work. Workouts happen in the afternoon or early evening—midday is ideal, but not always realistic.

What’s your current obsession?

- My current obsession is jasmine milk tea with 100% ice, 50% sugar, and boba :) it’s the sugar rush I never need and always want!

How do you come back to yourself when you feel off?

- Sometimes it’s a walk around the neighborhood, and if I have more time I’ll try to get out of the city. Swimming, being in water, always does the trick.

What do you value most in yourself?

-  I’ve always believed that I could succeed at any challenge presented to me. That little bit of delusion has actually carried me through a lot. I think it’s given me the push to try new things and keep going, even when it’s hard.

One thing you’ve learned to love about your body?

-   That it always gives me signals. Even when I ignore them, it’s trying to guide me back to balance. I’ve also started to appreciate how complex and incredible our bodies are—we use them in millions of ways every day without even realizing it. The fact that we barely understand how it all works is kind of amazing.

What’s your love language with yourself?

-   Right now, it’s permission to be in solitude. Taking care of myself without worrying about people, places, or responsibilities—just existing on my own timeline. When I get that kind of space, even just for a few hours, I feel more grounded, confident, and lighthearted.

A belief or mindset that’s guiding you right now?

-    Just because I can do everything doesn’t mean I should. Slowness is a strategy.

Finish the sentence: I feel most at home in my body when…

-   II have nothing on my to-do list, I’m far from my inbox, and I’m surrounded by nature. Bonus if there’s an outdoor shower and sunshine involved.

Vesper chose the Curve Jumpsuit and the Zipped Anorak with Front Pockets from Norba.
