The Wellness Edit: Amalie Reedtz-Thott

Amalie Reedtz-Thott — a passionate wellness enthusiast and student of naturopathy. In this conversation, she reflects on the small, intentional rituals that ground and empower her daily life, the personal language of self-love that shapes her journey, and the ways she has learned to listen to her body.

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?

- Brush my teeth, oil pull, and go straight to the kitchen for a big glass of lemon water with Himalayan salt. Then my black tea, before getting my girls ready for the day.

One small ritual you never skip?

- My morning meditation and breathwork — it's crucial for me. Even 5–12 minutes a day is enough. Find an app that resonates with you.  Cold shower and dry brushing, and of course my hot tea.

Your workout time: AM or PM?

-  AM, always. It sets the tone for the day. I usually do a short workout at home before the day begins — simple, time-effective, and sustainable. Most days it's around 10–25 minutes.

If I move in the evening, it's slower and more grounding: stretching, deep breaths, gentle movement.

What’s your current obsession?

- Living in rhythm with the seasons — finding beauty in the small everyday rituals. And eating apples with almond butter.

How do you come back to yourself when you feel off?

- A walk without sunglasses, letting my eyes meet the daylight, and a warm cup of tea — or a hot shower with essential oils.

What do you value most in yourself?

-  My stubbornness and my gut feeling.

One thing you’ve learned to love about your body?

-   That I don't need hours of workouts every week. Moving intentionally every day is enough. Consistency matters far more than duration.

What’s your love language with yourself?

-   Slow mornings. It's so good for my nervous system. I get much more done when my day begins calmly.

A belief or mindset that’s guiding you right now?

-    Move with grace. Be like a tree. We become what we pay attention to.

Finish the sentence: I feel most at home in my body when…

-   I breathe deeply. That feeling of recognizing my whole body and mind at once is a privilege.
